Day 4, Not a Bore!

Day 4- July 8, 2011
by Cameron and Maeko

This morning we had breakfast on the bus, which included muffins, apples, juice, and yogurt.  It was great!

While eating breakfast we were heading to Tree-GO a climbing activity that included 3 levels (swinging steps, zip lines and other various high ropes courses.)  Then we got to play games with other delegates and roasted hot dogs for lunch.  Next, after we finished eating the hotdogs our leaders and field instructor went bungee jumping from a bridge 140 ft. up in the air.  Thanks to us delegates cheering them on, all 6 went!  It was scary even to watch.

After seeing the leaders of our delegations jump off a bridge,  we left to go to the petroglyph park where we saw various images of animals and humans carved in rocks. The Native Americans drew these pictures in ancient times. These images progressed over time by being evolved by different geographical features.

Continued By Summer…
Then we got back on the bus and started to head for Chemainus, where there were some amazing murals on the buildings. The one I thought was the best was the one that showed three Native Canadians’ faces in the center of the mural. There was also a mural that looked 3D because the tree, chair, and the stairs looked so real. I thought it was an actual area where you could stand right next to the paintings in the frames. There was also a picture showing that the dwindling town’s population increased after the murals were painted!

Continued by Anna,
After Chemainus we got into the bus and we started our 1 ½  hour trip home to the University of Victoria where we will enjoy a nice dinner of tacos. During our trip home we watched Toy Story 3.
